SF 979, HF 1411 that . . . sets up, by January 2006, a Health Commissioner-appointed working group of medical providers, patients, and employer and employee representatives. The working group will design a universal health care system to be proposed by the Commissioner to the legislature for enactment by January 2010. SF 979, HF 1411 are authored by Senators John Marty, Becky Lourey, and Leo Foley; and Representatives Neva Walker, Bill Hilty, Mindy Greiling, Phyllis Kahn, and Carlos Mariani.
SF 339, HF 248 that . . . provides for the working group a single-payer blue print for 6 regional boards to develop budgets to meet the needs of the region’s residents; and a state board which will use the regional budgets to develop a state budget and use a Minnesota Health Care Trust Fund to pay the hospital and doctor bills.
